READING - The investigation into a fatal motorcycle crash last fall
is still ongoing, according to representatives from the Reading
Police Department and the State District Attorney’s office.
Michael Damore, 32 of Reading and Penny Richards 26, of North
Reading died last November when the motorcycle they were riding
collided with a pick-up truck driven by a New Hampshire man at the
intersection of Rte 129 (Lowell Street) and High Street.
The accident is currently under investigation by Reading and State
Police.
Det. Derek Holmes of the Reading Police Department said that local
police are waiting for the state Collision Reconstruction Team to
file their report with the state.
“We’re still a few weeks away from getting the report,” he said on
Tuesday.
According to Jessica Venezia, a spokesperson for District Attorney
Gerard Leone’s office, said that the Collision Analysis
Reconstruction Section, one of four such teams in the state, is
currently in the process of investigating the accident and compiling
their report.
“It takes time,” she said, “because they are recreating the
collision and creating an exhaustive report.”
When the report is completed and the results analyzed, police will
determine whether any charges will be filed, she said. |
