Penney Richards
November, 2009 |
At the
time of her death, Penney was applying to a program in at Southern
Maine Community College to further her education in the field of
radiation therapy for oncology patients. With this in mind, we have
established the Penney Richards Memorial Fund to award scholarships
to individuals who are continuing their education in the medical field.
Through 2023, the Scholarship Fund has awarded more than $109,500.00 to deserving students.
Qualified applicants are those who are
already working in the medical field and who are furthering their
studies for more advanced training or higher level degrees.
When the scholarship period is open, please visit here to download a copy of the application, as well as for a schedule of the application
deadline and the date for awarding of scholarships. Announcements
will also be made through the local media, as well as to the staff
at Massachusetts General Hospital's North Shore Cancer Center, where
Penney spent her days helping cancer patients attack their
illnesses.
Scholarship applications will be reviewed by a committee consisting
of business and professional leaders, as well as Penney's parents. |
